Cleveland Indians right-hander Emmanuel Clase suspended for 80 games after positive PED test

Dang ....

CLEVELAND, Ohio -- Indians right-hander Emmanuel Clase was suspended without pay for 80 games for the 2020 season after testing positive for a performance-enchancing drug.

The suspension does not begin until the 2020 season begins. The season has been delayed since spring training was suspended on March 12 because of the coronavirus pandemic. The regular season was scheduled to open on March 26.

MLB and the MLB Players Association are still determining whether Clase would serve the 80-game suspension in 2021 if there is no season this year. They are also negotiating whether there would be any carryover to the suspension to 2021 if the 2020 season is shorter than 80 games.

like getting only half what they expected in return. 80 games is just about half a season. Well, really hope we have some games now to eat up some of that suspension. 2020 is a wash anyhow -- a championship, if they play, will be hollow. Who will care?
