Rob Manfred whines about the lack of offense but allows the league to schedule games with 4:15 pm start times when infield shadows make it the most difficult time of day to hit a pitched ball (but TV can maximize ratings profits).
Giants vs Dodgers today, 4:15 PST. I'll predict this low-scoring game is decided in the late innings by a Max Muncy home run.
Anyone else?

"Does the degree of infield shadowing impact overall offense?" should be child's play to calculate for a competent statistician.
I wouldn't be surprised if there's a pretty strong correlation as you suggest, but now you have me keen to know

(39,353 posts)Marlins lost a soaker at Boston where it rained the entire game and they finally called it in the 6th after Boston went a head and the fish failed to score in the bottom.
The Marlins and Mets played a game earlier where the Mets pitcher was only able to get in 9 pitches in the top of the 1st. It threw people out of rotation and should never been played at all.
Oh and the umpires suck even worse this year than regular.
So they deadened the "juiced" balls and then complain about a lack of offense.
When they make me Commissioner I will make sure that all baseball parks will have a roof and the fields will be a lot more uniform than they currently are now. Fenway is a joke and should have closer to normal measurements.
Damn I sound like a crusty bitter asshole, but blah blah blah.
wow that felt good to vent. thanks
