Los Angeles Dodgers starting pitcher Trevor Bauer is facing allegations of assault from a woman stemming from a sexual encounter earlier this year.
The Pasadena (California) Police Department said it is investigating the alleged assault, which it says occurred around the middle of May. The case could be turned over to the district attorney's office as soon as Wednesday, a source told ESPN, at which point a decision would be made on whether it will move forward.
The woman was granted a domestic violence restraining order in L.A. County Superior Court against Bauer, according to her attorney, Marc Garelick, who alleged in a statement that his client "suffered severe physical and emotional pain" as a result of a "recent assault" from Bauer.

Bauer's agent, Jon Fetterolf, released a lengthy statement to ESPN denying any wrongdoing on behalf of his client. In the statement, Fetterolf described the relationship as "consensual" and called the woman's allegations "baseless" and "defamatory."

(17,757 posts)How dare they go after a starting pitcher! Don't they know who he is? It is probably just another "witch hunt."........
Powerful men often feel entitled to treat women any way that they wish. Isn't that what power is for?
I hope that the woman gets justice. (what ever that may be)

(31,772 posts)"Mr. Bauer had a brief and wholly consensual sexual relationship initiated by [the woman] beginning in April 2021," Fetterolf said in the statement. "We have messages that show [the woman] repeatedly asking for 'rough' sexual encounters involving requests to be 'choked out' and slapped in the face. In both of their encounters, [the woman] drove from San Diego to Mr. Bauer's residence in Pasadena, Calif., where she went on to dictate what she wanted from him sexually and he did what was asked."
According to Fetterolf, Bauer and the woman had two encounters, and she continued to message him with "friendly and flirtatious banter." But after their second encounter, Fetterolf said, the woman shared photos of herself and indicated to Bauer that she had "sought medical care for a concussion." Bauer responded with "concern and confusion," Fetterolf said, and the woman was "neither angry nor accusatory."

Stop!
While asking the court to issue a no-contact order that would prevent Bauer from coming within 100 yards of her, the woman, a 27-year-old who resides in San Diego, provided graphic details of sexual encounters with Bauer and photographs that show two black eyes, scratches on her face and bruised and cut lips. The alleged incidents took place at Bauer's home in Pasadena, California, on April 21 and May 16, and are being investigated by the local police department.
The restraining order was executed as a temporary ex parte, which can be achieved without input from the other party. Bauer's side plans to deny the account during a hearing scheduled for July 23, according to his representatives. On Tuesday, those representatives issued a statement denying that Bauer had assaulted the woman, calling the encounters "wholly consensual." The following day, they provided a series of text messages that show the woman inviting rough sex and talking about how she wants him to "gimme all the pain" and "choke me out."

(37,660 posts)And all Trevor Bauer merchandise has been pulled from the team store.
It's looking like Trevor Bauer has become Persona non grata to the Dodgers franchise.
Trevor Bauer totally screwed the pooch.
I'm guessing the front office is looking at all the ethic/morality clauses in his whopping $102,000,000 contract.
