Years ago the New York Times used to have a quote of the day feature.
One time circa 1969 they quoted Tom Seaver: If the Mets can win the World Series, we can end the war in Viet Nam!

Part of a decent Phillies outfield in the mid 70s. Mcbride, Maddox and Luzinski (sort of the weak link there).
