Scherzer to miss 6-8 weeks with oblique injury

Mets co-ace Max Scherzer has a moderate to high grade internal oblique strain in his left side and will miss 6-8 weeks, the club announced on Thursday.

Scherzer underwent an MRI on Thursday morning, a day after exiting his start against the Cardinals in the sixth inning.

That's a lot of starts to miss considering what he's being paid.

not allowing the Japanese ambassador to throw out the first pitch.

"Max Scherzer didn’t just ruin a fan throwing out the ceremonial first pitch Friday night, he got in the way of Mikio Mori, Ambassador and Consul General of Japan, doing the honors. Mori was in the city for the first Japan parade in honor of Japan Day on Saturday."

Every year one of thier star pitchers goes down with a weird injury. As a Nats fan I am grateful for the World Series Title that he helped bring to Washington but I though he made a big mistake in joining the Mets.

He's a remorseless freak of nature with when it comes to negotiating; the Mets walked away thinking they were lucky to snag Max.
