There are too many bad calls by the humans! Still need an ump at home, but please! We need more accuracy on balls and strikes.
I see the robots have made it up thru the minors to AAA. Looks like the 2024 season.
Robot umpires could be coming to Major League Baseball in 2024 / All in an effort to make baseball move faster

(9,666 posts)A human will still be at home plate, with the robot caller instantly calling balls and strikes and relaying that to the Home Plate Umpire, who will announce the balls or strikes. So there will not be robot on the field. Seems a little cumbersome to me, but they have been testing the tech in the minor leagues. It's going to make batters be more careful. I'll bet walks will increase and strikeouts will decrease, but we will see.
I am just tired of seeing so many bad calls during these postseason playoff games. The games are too important to rely upon the fallible human to call balls and strikes.

Beating a dead horse, I know, but it bothers me more the more I watch games.
