This was, mind you, 1931 where Ruth hit 46 home runs (so did Lou), and made the final out in the prior inning 30 something times.
He came to the plate around 80 times that season and still averaged nearly 1.2 RBI per game.
In 1927, he had 173 RBI (IIRC) with Ruth hitting 60 HR and 35 final outs. 95 times minimum, he cam to the plate with nobody on, and still drove in 173 runs. Amazing!
BTW: In '31, Lou hit .341 & only struck out 56 times.
