A dropped pop-up, an errant throw, and two base-running mistakes.
Dodger's Michael Busch, tagged out on the play, was apparently held from scoring by third base coach Dino Ebel. Mookie Betts' overrun of second base didn't help matters.
It all overshadowed a spectacular start by Los Angeles pitcher Emmet Sheehan, just up from Double-A, who threw a no-hitter in six innings.
San Francisco improves to 37-32, just 1.5 games behind L.A. in the standings.

OP
The great John Miller called it. But was it the worst baserunning in the history of the game?

I think a catcher once chased a bunter to first and then around the basepaths.

Giants move within half-game of Dodgers with historic rout
LOS ANGELES -- Suddenly, the Giants are the hottest team in baseball.
Or maybe its not so sudden. Their 15-0 thrashing of the Dodgers on Saturday night at Dodger Stadium was a sixth straight victory, but the fact of the matter is that San Francisco has been doing this for a while now. Dating back to May 15, the Giants have won 21 of their last 30 games, a .700 clip thats the best winning percentage in the Majors in that stretch.

No.
Crawford drove in the winning run last night.

IIRC the bunter was credited with a home run!

My magic 8 Ball doesn't see another sweep. The Padres have a good game going on so it should be a good series.
There was a little pucker power going on in yesterday's game with the bases loaded in the bottom of the ninth, no?

(31,802 posts)9. Yes. Dave Fleming said Alexander looked rusty. He hadn't pitched in a while.
It all worked out.
