(136,784 posts)5. Generally, I think, but I haven't seen them recently.
Did see one on owl box last week, and neighbor said there are a couple near her.
They'll probably be here until September-ish.

(32,437 posts)6. Your osprey probably have a longer migration south. The osprey in Prospect Park and Central Park
arrive earlier and seem to hang out till november/december, but they probably don't migrate as far south.

'Ours' aren't tagged, so don't know how far south they go, but return here St. Pat's Day.

(32,437 posts)8. It seems the Chesapeake area osprey were arriving later this year...
If you recall there were unfavorable winds holding them back, and the Cape May Observatory had fewer sightings in early March. Your general area had many osprey missing their mates, some had to find new partners, delaying matings. They *finally* starting arriving with the great migration of Gannets who were traveling with the great fish migration.
