Leader, Roger, makes his owl call to attract a response from an owl he saw in a tree earlier in the day,
The response was more than he bargained for. Said owl, came out of the tree and took Roger's hat off his head for him. I guess, if he didn't have a hat on, he would have been killed by the bird.

(13,540 posts)5. There was an incident in Maine. A woman was killed by an owl. The owl's talons cut her jugular.

A Netflix documentary about 2 years ago, a death in one of the Carolinas was attributed to murder by her husband. A new theory is that she was killed by an owl. A small feather or two were on her clothing.
Some of the smaller owls have micro-feathers.
