Prairie Warbler in Brooklyn NYC








This individual's song is a rapid series of buzzy notes that rise in pitch from beginning to end. The Prairie Warbler is quite handsome; note the chestnut streaks on the back of his neck.

…and, anecdotally, our numbers seem down this spring.

It just might be early for these, as almost 900 Yellow-rumped Warblers were counted one morning at Cape May, then started arriving in NYC.
