That's the mnemonic device I learned to remember the whistling song of the white-throated sparrow. This one was in a neighbor's tree this morning.

I imagine few new birdwatchers will learn to identify birdsongs mnemonically--if at all--now that apps like Merlin will do the work for you. Trying to pick out the calls and songs helps keep my ears and mind a little sharper, so I'll make do without Merlin.
