There are doves in my back yard who do this if I get too close to them.

It was atop a pole and about 30 feet away. I don't have to approach them get a photo. They often perch on my deck railings within a few feet of me.

A dove stands guard it seems. And if my little dog or I get too close the dove starts
the feather ruffling maneuver. It doesn't fly away, it stands its ground.

The textures and details on both the dove and the utility pole are out of this world.

Whatever lens you were using, it more than performed perfectly!
