This might be only the second time I've ever seen one, and the first time one visited the feeders. He spent most of the morning here feasting. I wasn't even sure who he was at first
I used to have a couple pair that would visit.
They really do sound like squeaky sneakers on a gym floor.

Maybe they prefer earing in the "wide open".

(16,223 posts)I hadn't seen a rose-breasted grosbeak for about 10 years.
Right now there's a male perched next to my suet basket.
Maybe they're up to something.

(32,348 posts)for Warblers, Rose-Breasted Grosbeaks, etc. heading to the North-East. Some Catbirds arrived a few days ago, but these seem to be the regular summer residents who nest here.
It would be wonderful to see another Grosbeak stopping by. Have plenty of feed out, though it is rainy.
