Related: About this forumCosta Rica Birds: Sunset at Saco's Pond 2022
Mar 4, 2022
There's a special little pond hidden in a neighborhood in downtown Nuevo Arenal, Costa Rica. It belongs to a man named Saco, who is a local taxi driver. Saco's pond is home to some of the most beautiful and interesting birds in Costa Rica. Thanks to my friend Jeff (who is buddies with Saco), I was able to shoot for several evenings. What a treat!
Here you'll see more than 22 unique species of birds, including motmots, caracara, tanagers, woodcreepers, woodpeckers, warblers, and more. Some residents, some migrants, and some as yet unidentified.
