Fiery-Throated Hummingbirds

Fiery-Throated Hummingbirds (Panterpe Insignis) from the Talamancan montane forests of Costa Rica.

These hummingbirds look often dark, but when the light catches its feathers at the right angle, they display a bright iridescent yellow-bordered orange and red throat, a brilliant blue crown and violet-blue chest patch, green body plumage .

Watch them fly starting here: #1:36 together with the Magnificent Hummingbirds (Eugenes Fulgens) can also be seen in this video flying together.
