Related: About this forumHey Eagles fans....you may not have won the SB tonight, but
you have a team that will compete for a awhile. Jalen Hurts is an awesome QB and you have a defense that is going to hurt a lot of teams going forward. You may not have won, but you aren't a bunch of losers.

(10,402 posts)Due to his fuck up. Our defense needs work. Fucking so pissed off

(17,805 posts)Was the direct result of that crappy field. The NFL and the stadium should be ashamed of how awful the field condition was.

(2,997 posts)Crappy defensive coordinator was the cause. And the ref.

(5,768 posts)We think we would have been playing the Chiefs if not for our Quarterback getting injured on the first drive of the game.

(14,321 posts)doesn't matter. The D let us down.

(179 posts)When they came out on the field at first, I thought "Uh-oh! This looks like it's over." Bam bam bam! Right down the field. But the Chiefs came roaring back even faster! Great game, enjoyed it a lot.

(31,801 posts)I saw a lot like it in earlier in the game that want called.
But congrats to the Chiefs anyway. Reids clock management at the end was textbook.

(28,392 posts)I mean, every single play. Refs could call a lot and still miss a lot,: I think it is about neutralizing the calls so that they negate each other.

Eagles, in my opinion, had a lucky cakewalk in the playoffs. They beat an under matched Giants team, and got lucky when the 49er QB went down during their first drive. Despite their storybook, excellent season, the Eagles were overrated, and if showed tonight.

(5,768 posts)They got away with a lot of holds in this game too.

(13,462 posts)The Chiefs probably would have kicked the go-ahead field goal anyway, but that bogus holding penalty gave them a new set of downs and took a lot of time off the clock.
The Eagles would have had enough time to score, making the end of this SB truly exciting.

For Chiefs fans.
Not so much for Eagles.
Martin Eden
(13,462 posts)The holding penalty kinda spolied what could have been a SB for the ages.
calguy
(5,768 posts)He even admitted he was guilty of the infraction.
You're suggesting the refs just let it go because the fans wanted a fantastic ending?
The Chiefs second half comeback was already fantastic.
What more did you want?
A Philly win?

(13,462 posts)They showed the replay several times, and I didn't see an actual hold. The defender put his hand on the receiver's back, but didn't hold or hook the guy as far as I could see.
And no, I wasn't rooting for the Eagles.

(2,000 posts)That's something to be proud of.
It came to me when I saw your post.
Nothing to do with football, but it's the silver lining.
is blue though!!! Mayor is Democrat. Unfortunately state has been red for many years.

(2,000 posts)Blue, even in red states. PA was in danger of turning red, but managed to avoid it. MO was never in danger of turning blue, it is unfortunately red.
I'm in NC and we have a Dem governor but lost the supreme court in this last election, and our state legislature is dominated by rethugs but they don't quite have a supermajority. We're purple, moving towards red IMO, and I'm not that loyal to my state. Considering I'm a native New Yorker and not into football, I'd probably route for a blue state team over a red state team. Actually I paid more attention this year because 2 NY teams made it to the playoffs. Otherwise I don't pay attention.
I'm glad it was an exciting game for those who watched.

(5,768 posts)Was a great game and the Eagles had a great season compared to their recent past. I don't think next year is going to be easy for them. They'll have a #1 strength of schedule competition, plus they've got a whole lot of free agents that they won't be able pay what they're going to want.
They do have two first round draft picks this year, so that'll help. They've got a great up and coming QB, if he doesn't get hurt. Plus an obvious great coaching staff. But will they make to next year's SB?
Highly doubtful.
JT45242
(2,899 posts)The last throw and the throw that should have been a walk in TD that only got them to the five yard line show he isn't a great QB.
If they change the rule back so that they can't push him forward on sneaks, he is just the guy who got benched in the college playoffs.
Burrow, Allen, and Herbert all better prospects than Hurts. But the NFC is super weak, so that team should be able to carry him to the playoffs until he blows up the cap.
