As somebody adamantly passionate about the Pro Football Hall of Fame, he needs to get over himself, he really does. How can I take him seriously as a leader of 18-to-22-year-old men and somebody who is supposed to be a role model for people in some formidable years when he spews hot garbage like this?

"The Hall of Fame ain't the Hall of Fame no more," Sanders said. "I love it, I respect it, I admire it. I think all the guys who are inducted are definitely deserving, but it needs to be a different color jacket. My jacket's gotta be a different color."
If it were up to Sanders, he would totally revamp the process for getting into the Hall of Fame. The former 49ers and Cowboys star said he would create a top tier of Hall of Famers that would only feature 22 players (11 starters on offense and 11 on defense).

And I got a text from a fellow Canton enthusiast on Wednesday.
"I got more insight into Deion. Apparently he declined to get inducted into the Georgia Sports Hall of Fame a few times because he found the inductees in those classes to be beneath him."
Will somebody humble this man, please? If not TCU, then who?
I've got nothing against the players, not at all. It's their coach I can't stand.

(106,360 posts)of humility--at least on a personal level. He has a serious issue with blood clots and had to have two toes amputated a few months ago--leg amputation was a possibility that he narrowly escaped.
As I posted earlier, I am neither attached to CU or CSU, but I am feeling bad for the CSU program, its players, students, and alumnae. While they are certainly not a strong program, the media has all but stopped reporting on them, in favor of their super-celebrity, "Coach Prime."
Oops, halftime is almost over... time to watch my UGA Bulldawgs.

I'm not rooting for anything bad to happen to him health-wise, but football-wise, if and when he loses big, it'll be glorious.

(8,203 posts)Deion for getting his players ready to play one of the best teams in College football..they had very few penalties and conducted themselves professionally..CO is totally revamped..he even said it..so many naysayers..
It was a great game, 45-42..CO offense sparkled..room for inprovement on defense..
Many games to play...I am not so much into college football..as I am College Basketball..but this game had me on my feet...rooting for Colorado..
..Deion knows he has a lot to prove to the naysayers..I wish him and his team well...

(57,517 posts)It's not bragging if you back it up.
Of all the sucess he's had at an HBCU school, the only job offer he got was from one of the worst major college schools and look what he did.
Let's see what the rest of the season hold, but give credit where credit is due for now.
It's a fabulous win for him and all the transport portal players he bought in.

(12,828 posts)Perhaps one of the most asinine, bass-ackwards quotes ever put forward.
And a good example of why a great deal of (mostly men's) sports have become painful to endure.

The same can be said of most people, men and women, at the top of their fields.

He did bring the goods - no question. And he did redeem himself to a large degree in later years through good works and genuine ambassadorship. (and also moving away from the cock crowing exhibitionism)

The way Deion treated that female reporter made me cringe.

(284 posts)Years i lived in Atlanta always Falcon fans. Also followed Florida team for friends there. I had the opportunity to meet the players at one special game and the one thing I learned was the best player who spent time with fans, had photographers take pictures of us with him and bunch of other players but he organized the meet and greets. Absolutely NO ego trip ever evident. I followed his career ever since. He does NOT come across as arrogant in person he respects fans more than other players do. One different opinion for you to consider.
