Nick Bosa has been holding out for a new deal with the 49ers. He'll miss the season opener against Pittsburgh.
No one knows the details of the contract negotiation between Bosa and the San Francisco 49ers, but you can bet the numbers being thrown around are in the neighborhood similar to what Aaron Donald of the Rams receives ($31.7 million a year) or what older brother Joey of the Chargers held out for (a $135 million extension).
I'll guess it's not about the money anymore but this nonsense about respect and acknowledgment to prove he's among the bestor the bestplayer in the NFL.
Want to really prove your value? Just sign a fucking deal. Anywhere between $31.7 and $135 million sets you up for life.
Dick.

I appreciate his talents -- he's helped keep the 49ers in contention for 4 years. But I suspect the negative stuff might still linger inside him.

(14,705 posts)having same problem with C. Jones. He wasnt there at camp or pre-season games and wont play Thursday unless he makes a deal in the next day. A few weeks back he said he might not play the first eight games, then come back? Are you kidding me😖😖😖
Didnt read the replies before I posted
But yeah. Jones is a sore spot right now.

I dont know what management is doing cuz Veach has said they traded Hill in order to have money for Jones. What is taking so long? Jones is racking up the fines in the meantime.
I am not thinking its a dick move yet but HE may regret his hold out if the D is decent without him. Its plausible

I'd trade him for three first round draft picks.
Given, my horrible predictive powers, he'll probably sign today. For naming rights to the Golden Gate Bridge.
Bosa Bridge? Ego has no limits. Until it flops.
Bosa State University?

(5,124 posts)But he should also talk to his Dad about what could happen in an extended holdout. His dad did that right after he was drafted in the first round by the Dolphins and once he did arrive, failed to make an impact and failed to stay healthy. His dad was out of football 3 years later.
The rest of the 49ers front seven is imposing enough without Bosa in the lineup, but his absence will be felt. Pittsburgh is not the Chiefs, Eagles, or Bengals, but they're not slouches. Tomlin will have his team ready to play.
