BEREA, Ohio -- Cleveland Browns quarterback Deshaun Watson will undergo season-ending surgery to repair a fracture in his throwing shoulder.
According to a team statement Wednesday, an MRI performed Monday revealed that Watson had a displaced fracture to the glenoid in his right shoulder. Team doctors determined that Watson needed immediate surgery to avoid further structural damage.
Watson, who will be placed on injured reserve, is expected to be back for the start of the 2024 season.

According to the Browns, Watson suffered the injury during the first half against the Ravens, though he finished the game before telling the team's medical staff about shoulder discomfort that led to the MRI. Another MRI also found that Watson suffered a left high ankle sprain during the contest.

Hope he and the brownies lose a lot.

(2,274 posts)the Browns bandwagon but the Deshawn Watson hire made me jump right back off. They deserve anything they get now imo

(20,252 posts)The remainder of Cleveland's schedule does not pit them against many elite teams. Finishing 12-5 and in a playoff spot is not out of the question, even without Watson behind center.

(31,798 posts)More like 10-7, with losses on the road to Denver, L.A. and Cincy, and one more at home against either Pittsburgh or Jacksonville. Could end up at 9-8 if Pittsburgh finds a way to win.

(20,252 posts)Maybe in L.A. as well. I'm not going to settle for less than 11-6.

(31,798 posts)I saw that Flacco had worked out but wasn't aware of the signing. Appreciate the post. Flacco has some work ahead of him to get ready.

Watson is a dirt bag.

(20,252 posts)Joe Flacco looking solid. Week 15, the Bears enter the Dawg Pound. No reason why Cleveland can't win that one too.

(31,798 posts)Kudos to Flacco. And he should improve with each game. But I want some credit for calling Denver and L.A. correctly.
Potential "trap" games are next for Cleveland: Chicago and Jets (just ask Detroit and Houston). Plus Houston and Cincinnati, as of today, still have something to play for.

I'm one more victory away from being prophetic! Although I didn't see Joe Flacco and his 300-400 yard games coming!

(31,798 posts)WAY more positive than me. One more win, or a Bills loss, and they clinch top WC seed, right?
The injuries are staggering -- hard to believe it all.
