But they are definitely formidable. Their defense seems rock solid, and Goff is spot on.
They have had a rough many years, and I am happy for them that they have found something that works for them.
I fear that they will crush my Vikings in two upcoming games.

Superior running/passing execution. Same on Defense. This is a game that this team should be proud of...on both sides of the ball. Maybe the best game I've seen this year.

That doesn't take anything away from Detroit being a top team this year. I'm happy to see them in this playoff position after so many years of futility.

Every year it's something. Last year was far from the worst but watching all those horrible calls in the Seahawks/Rams' game, which the Seahawks undeservedly won and then having to stand by while their God awful fans - after their obnoxious team knocked the Lions out of the playoffs - going all over social media to say how much they "loved" the Lions was just a typical enraging scenario!

So I assume something will happen to ruin it all again. It always does.

Thanks in part to my Bengals' late game rally to bounce the Vikings, the Lions' magic number to clinch the division is now just one. The problem is, they play the Vikings twice in these last three games, so instead of what would normally be six opportunities to clinch the North (the Vikings playing three teams not the Lions and the Lions playing three teams not the Vikings) they only have four opportunities to clinch:

Sunday, Dec. 24: If the Lions beat the Vikings.
Saturday, Dec. 30: If the Lions beat the Cowboys.
Sunday, Dec. 31: If the Packers beat the Vikings.
Sunday, Jan. 7: If the Lions beat the Vikings

Beating Dallas in Dallas is a tall order, and they were jobbed there in the WC game of 2014, and I wouldn't put it past the officials to pull another screw job. And, the Packers suddenly look weak, so I wouldn't count on any help there. Nope, either this Sunday or January 7 they're going to have to beat the Vikings head-to-head. This Sunday would be preferable so they could have it settled. Of course, if they were to win Sunday and then win in Dallas, then the #2 seed is a real possibility.

So, keep your chin up, Lisa. Bright days are ahead.

WTF? Why did they backload the schedule like this?

I also detest the Vikings. If the Packers beating the Vikings will get us in, that would be great.

I had dinner out last night with some people, one of them is a Seahawks' fan, and she was very cheerful about the Lions' chances, and all I could do was shake my head. She clearly doesn't get it. The stupid Seahawks once got into the playoffs with a losing record.

of course, but one can argue that twice in the last three weeks is a bit of overkill. Now, had they managed to just beat inferior Seattle, Green Bay and Chicago teams, or just one of those three, they'd already have the division wrapped up. But, I still think they will take care of business Sunday. And, even if they don't they still have two more opportunities, with the last game being at home.

Jesus Christ, did I call that one. Yet again the zebras gift-wrapped a win for an unworthy Dallas team. Un-fucking-believable.

They'll just issue some lame-ass apology and everyone will have no choice but to move on. And if any Lions player/coach/officer says 'boo,' the league will land on them with both feet.

Getting the number one seed was going to be a tall order, but it was possible and the zebras arbitrarily screwed them out of that. Fucking bullshit is what it is.

and the Ref essentially ignoring him. Brilliant play call by Campbell IMO.

Dallas deserved a loss with that horrible defense that allowed the last-minute TD. What is Dan Quinn thinking?

but after the penalty moved them back to the seven I was yelling at Campbell to kick the damn ball. Guess he didn't hear me. Then when they moved it up to the four I was hoping he would calm down and see the situation rationally, but nope. I mean, at that point you have to see that the universe is trying to tell you that it isn't going to happen and you take the extra point and roll the dice in OT.

though Lions would have converted in the third attempt had Goff thrown a decent pass. The Dallas D was playing so poorly (or was so gassed) that perhaps Campbell considered it a no brainer.

Look at the Seattle game. They missed a terrible holding call on Hutch, which led to a TD instead of a field goal and Detroit never saw the ball. DC probably didn't like the odds in OT.
