KANSAS CITY, Mo. (KCTV) - A critical piece of the Kansas City Chiefs defense has re-signed ahead of the organization’s attempt at the first threepeat in NFL history.

Defensive tackle Chris Jones signed a five-year extension with Kansas City on Saturday. According to an ‘X’ post from Adam Schefter, Jones’ deal is for 95 million.

Details are still being finalized however, according to Schefter, all of the money will be guaranteed in the first three years. Jones was set to be an unrestricted free agent this off-season after he played the 2023 season on an incentive-laden deal following a holdout that spanned OTA, training camp and even into Week 1 of the regular season.....

(snip)

Now, Jones will be one of the highest-paid defensive linemen in the National Football League. Over the course of his eight-year career, Jones has 75.5 sacks and has twice been named an All-Pro.
