That said, it all worked out - the whole second half was a field position battle and Michigan didn't blink.

(6,312 posts)I'll never understand the obsession with the definite article. There are plenty of other state universities in Ohio, but surely Buckeyes aren't worried they're getting confused with them either.
Or are they?

(449 posts)Ohio University, in Athens Ohio, is the oldest college in the Old Northwest. In the center of the state, in the state's capital, a land grant college came to be. It was Ohio Agricultural and Mechanical. After a number of years it renamed as Ohio State. They sued to take the name Ohio University. Since it was in the state capital, they had much support from state legislators, and administration. The media hypes them beyond rationality. Their football superstitions are inane.
