I've got no dog in the hunt but sometimes i wonder if there isn't something going on behind the curtains. Just because I'm paranoid doesn't mean there isn't some hanky panky going on. There's a lot of money on this game.

(17,999 posts)I am a KC fan, and I am not seeing any bias. Unless the DBs start turning around, they are going to continue to be flagged.

(10,565 posts)I heard some sports talk about how much variance there is between different referee crews. There are some that let em play-this isn't one of those crews. I just want to see a good game

Shit is out of control ... all-time classic ...

(3,163 posts)And I have been an ardent (rabid?) KC Chiefs fan for more than 40 years.
There was one call for illegal block in the back that was totally bogus. He barely touched the guy. But there are a few of those in every game.
What torqued my sneakers was the endless worship of Todd Gurley. After one end run the talking heads were yammering about how "explosive" he is on end runs, and how powerful and on and on. "You think you've got him stopped," one big mouth opined, "but you can't stop him." Except KC had just done precisely that. The play had gone for a one yard loss.

(1,265 posts)I used to get so tired of it I stopped looking forward to the MNF games. I think he borrowed what John Madden started doing in minimal, good spots and started doing it all night long when he (Gruden) started covering the games. He added little in football analysis, and would chime in from time to time like he'd been on the crapper for most of the series: "I love this guy...look what he does on this play...(starts diagramming on the screen) he just gets in there!". Booger McFarland talks a lot more football, and I am enjoying the MNF games more again.
I know what you're saying the one yard loss type hype. At least they could say something like "usually he would have busted through, but look at what they have to do to stop him", or show how they had to read that he would be going through that gap or side of the field.
Either way, they are lazy over paid idiots. By the way, I hope Les Miles does good for you guys. Recruiting should pick up and building those relationships in Louisiana will definitely be good for KS.

(3,163 posts)Despite living in San Diego the past 25 years, and being a long time KC Chiefs fan, my fanatical NCAA devotion is to LSU to the extent that I bleed purple. I know, it's complicated. Geaux Tigers, nonetheless. In basketball season I get very excited about the Jayhawks.
A local sports writer said that Miles to KU was like spreading haggis on corn. I think he was badmouthing both Miles and the Jayhawks, but I paid little attention. He's been an idiot for years.
Anyway, yes, I think Les Miles is a superb recruiter, and an outstanding character and team builder. As a game coach, calling plays and such, he's a little weird. And, no, I'm not just talking about his grass eating tendencies.
