On a high note, though, Wasteland 2 is going strong.

I would imagine the founders were the only ones who could maintain a modicum of autonomy over EA. Now it'll probably be entirely under EA control, and considering the odd things that have come from EA I'm not optimistic.

EA boss boasts: “I have not green lit one game to be developed as a singleplayer experience”

Bioware's games were essentially singleplayer experiences (at least the ones I played, KOTOR, ME 1 and 2) and to have to shoehorn a multiplayer component into those kinds of games seems unnecessary. It just seems like your taking development time and money from creating the kind of engrossing singleplayer experiences that made those games successes.

Mind you, I have yet to play Mass Effect 3 and it's multiplayer, since on PC it's an Origin exclusive. Also interesting to note that two of Bioware's (ME3 and SW:TOR) games have been used to push Origin on people.
