Road 96?

I've played a little and may make some videos.

It's an interesting game. It has more potential than it has achieved, but it is an amazing story-telling platform.

You are a teen runaway trying to escape a despotic nation. Once you succeed or fail, you begin again until election day.

It's really not that much of a game, but a collection of mini games. Yet, it is still oddly compelling.

It was interesting, but I escaped on my second try (pure luck) and didn’t really feel compelled to try again. I know escaping isn’t the point — it’s a story generator, so whether you make it or not you have an interesting tale to tell — but I guess it didn’t quite grab me enough to keep going. I’m sure there was a LOT I missed out on.

I ran with it through the chapters, and in doing so learned more of the overall story.

I found it oddly compelling for they way it pieced things together. Without that, it wasn't exactly an exciting game!

where I have to reach a sort of “point of immersion” where the game “clicks” and I want to keep going to the end, otherwise I just bounce off. I just didn’t get there with this one, but I can see how it could get compelling if you reach that immersion point.
