(4,941 posts)Though the Slingshot is US-legal and more to the point under a third of the price. Or a Morgan 3-wheeler if I were going for the offbeat funky thing..

(219 posts)It gets quite cold on mid Saskatchewan, so the dealer will keep it until the weather allows me to drive it 90 miles home.

(34,069 posts)I was wondering if any dealers had a demo for test rides.
ROFF
(219 posts)But that is no great problem. I have watched videos on YouTube and Polaris SlingShot Forums.
When I bought the Can Am Spyder RTS in October 2011 I had not driven one either. We picked it up on March 17 2012, first time that I drove one, and rode it two and a half hours home.
BTW the dealers have had a chance to dive demo units this summer but no units have been seen in the showrooms yet.

(219 posts)I won't be getting a 2015 Slingshot. The government of Saskatchewan through its licensing agency, Saskatchewan Government Insurance (SGI ) has seen fit to not certify the Slingshot. They will introduce legislation next spring to make them legal, hopefully.

(11,467 posts)And Fla has no helmet law for people over 21 so I won't need to wear a helmet. I just wish you could get the base model in the Red as I find the grey/silver boring!

(12,160 posts)it's not a motorcycle or a scooter. Enjoy and have fun. Wear your helmet.

(219 posts)Placed an order for the base model yesterday and best of all, my wife will not need a motorcycle endorsement to drive it.
ROFF
(219 posts)Will go for a ride with the wife tonight. Hopefully she will drive it to.

I picked up a 2006 Honda CTX-C 1300 recently. I really like it and it's low end torque.
ROFF
(219 posts)Although I don't drive it like that. Just cruise control and posted speed limits are good enough for me. The wife is the one that I worry about, lead foot an all.
We went for a 60 mile drive tonight, she said it more than exceeded her expectations.
We both learned on three speed standards fifty years ago, so it will take some time to be comfortable driving it. So far, so good.

(219 posts)Just completed a return trip Humboldt SK to Port Alberni BC to home. Some rain, have to get some RainX for our helmets. Trip went great, looking forward to next years vacation. 120KPH speed limits were made for this machine.
