Saw this on another website and thought it to be relevant to this discussion.

Park rangers say you should wear little bells and carry pepper spray when in bear territory. THe bells are to keep you from accidentally surprising the bear napping off after stuffing itself with berries, nuts, or whatever. They also say you can identify what kind of bear is in the area by looking at bear scat (aka turds – yes, they DO sh*t in the woods!). Black bear scat will be full of seeds, insect parts, stems from berries, etc. Grizzly bear scat will be full of little bells and smell like cayenne pepper…

The little story you've posted is commonly found on pro-gun sites. They like to mock normal people who enjoy nature and the outdoors without carrying a firearm. In this incident, carrying a firearm and using it to hunt a wild animal was the reason he was attacked. So your tale of bells & pepper spray is irrelevant and simply displays the ignorance of pro-gunners.

If not, it is hypocritical to knock someone eats what he hunts. It is actually more honest and more ethical than the guy that pays the factory farm industry to kill their food for them. This doesn't apply to rich trophy hunters like Trump's kids.
