My parents owned 8 acres of waterfront not far from Sotterley. It served as a vacation home. My parents planned to retire there and I had planned to build my home there as well. Unfortunately, my mother chose to sell the house and land when my father died because it was a remote area and she didn't want to be so far from her family.
