Convincing win against City today
Anfield was rocking tonight.
Alexander-Arnold came into his own tonight.
Brilliant team performance against a good City side.
Well done Reds.

By the way, City are a great side, not just good.
Very happy with my Reds today.

(6,261 posts)Because I understand the circumstances in which it was implemented, but you can't deny that if Liverpool score an early goal in Manchester next week, the tie is effectively over. I can't really say that's the way it ought to be either.
the League Cup has it right IMO: Away goals only count after extra time.
That said: wow! I did NOT expect this! This City ARE a great side.

(3,622 posts)City will have to score 6 to win the tie.
Away goals count double in the event of an aggregate draw.
City can win with 4 goals if they shut Liverpool down.
They're capable of winning big, but dropping two games to Liverpool and losing to Wigan takes them out of contention for "great" IMO.
Klopp is doing something right.

(4,575 posts)City have to score 5, not 6.
3-0 1st Leg
1-4 City win - Aggregate 4-4 LFC go through on away goals
1-5 Aggregate score 4-5 City go through

City are good and quite capable of winning 4-0 against just about anybody they play
They've already won the League Cup and will win the Premier league which will make them a very good team but to qualify as a great team they will have to overcome the deficit and then go on to win the Champions League
I was impressed with the performance given by Alexander-Arnold. After getting thrashed in a couple of recent matches, the 19 year old kid gave a poised performance even though he was clearly targeted
