U.S. men lose to Honduras, miss 3rd straight Olympic soccer tournament

American players fell to the field at the final whistle. Another missed Olympics soccer tournament for the U.S. men. Another failed four-cycle.

“Obviously, we’re devastated, absolutely devastated,” U.S. coach Jason Kreis said. “In our locker room, the guys are like it’s a tragedy — a tragedy.”

The American Olympic skid is part of a trend that includes the senior national team missing the 2018 World Cup.

Just wow.

I think it’s time to open up those premier training leagues to people who can play not just Pay and travel.

Our first and second string players were playing their paid matches (mostly in Europe) and did not play in the match against Honduras. The men’s team and its management screwed up royally here. Thankfully the US women’s team has already qualified and they will be strong favorites to win another gold medal.

My team, Chelsea (grew up a mile or so away from Stamford Bridge) has your best player, Pulisic. I regret we bought him so far, as he is made of glass. Constant injury issues. His form is low atm as well, compared to his peak of last season.
