Over the years, his subsequent tomes — from Toujours Provence to Hotel Pastis — documented life in Provence, establishing Mayle as an expert on the region. His latest novel, The Diamond Caper, takes readers to the South of France in a plot-twisting mystery set against a rosé-fueled Riviera backdrop.
