(136,095 posts)Did you ever see the birds fly OUT, FAST, after the first firework, or were you already under the blanket???

(146,218 posts)I also have this memory of seeing some fireworks that actually made an american flag.
I have often wondered if I just imagined that or if I made it up.
Have you ever seen such a thing?
I do remember having a wonderful time before the fireworks - picnic on the mall, all the great people gathered together. Those were the days before I knew about big outdoor concerts, but one of the reasons why I love them still.

(136,095 posts)I've seen it a few times. Fireworks folks are great artists!
Was great to see all the folks on the Mall, picnicing w friends an families, looked like they'd planned it for a long time, and spent the entire day there. Looks like Wednesday weather in DC will be high of 91, actually BETTER than today where high is 104!
Daughters love big outdoor concerts, me not so much. Younger daughter met her 'soulmate' at one, 3 years ago!

(34,318 posts)one of the locations is at the top of a skyscraper so they put on a "picnic" and we take the kids to watch the fireworks over the bayou. It's ok, but I'd rather be in a boat
