In other words, justifying restrictive political views of the minority and using the threat of Sharia laws as the boogeyman to justify themselves. White Christian nationalism has many boogeymen to throw out there.

Amazing that worked,Relatives of these DP"s turned their wrath on these innocent families because of some cockamamie bull crap from their Preacher or Priest.

You also have a considerable amount of fear mongering going on, which while almost exclusively baseless still is fueled by religious based terrorism.

(36,010 posts)don't have much use for some of shari'a's consequences. Just look at many feminist takes on what suddenly become "cultural traditions" but which believers bill as beliefs: body/face coverings, for instance.
Hardly "the same people who want to enforce Old Testament rules on everyone." Granted, they have a set of rules they want enforced, but they're hardly OT.
