This is the illo to an article I clicked on. I tried doing an image search to find out who drew it and what drugs he was on, but the first few pages of results just went back to the article.

Kinda makes you wonder if the so-called civilized ones didn't start out the same way. I certainly hope whoever wrote the story about the talking donkey was on something.
