Trump is like God

He wants daily praise. He demands total loyalty. He wants constant thanks for everything he does. He needs you to appreciate all the good things he does. You need to have faith that everything he does is good, and investigating to determine the truth must be forbidden. He will help you, if you beg him first. There can be no other people that know more or have better ideas than him. Only he can save us.

So much like God.

and smears anyone who disagrees with them on anything, no matter how small, as utterly wrong and misguided at best, and deeply corrupt and nefarious at worst.

They direct the same accusation at any member of the free press that dares fact check them and find mistakes, or ask a followup question...

They will refuse to endorse anyone who doesn't flatter them, and require absolute fealty as the price and only qualification for that endorsement.
