Strangeness in Sandy Photos *warning--large photos
I've been wanting to write up my storm experience for my friends here at ASAH but it's been difficult due to complications from the storm. Finally, though, I think I can pull the pictures and story together.
What might interest you is if you recall pictures I posted from another storm. I don't remember the name of that storm, but I posted pictures of it and Cleita saw a face in one of the pictures. I had not spotted the face. Later she came back to the thread and said she thought the face was of a cat. Sure enough, looking at the pictures there was indeed a cat. My cat Bitsey had crossed over only three weeks before the storm and she made an appearance in the pictures. As I examined other photos taken at that time, she appeared in them, too. It meant so much to me to be able to see her in the pictures. I will be forever grateful to Cleita for spotting her and for mentioning it on the thread.
I wasn't thinking of that experience when I took my camera out in the early hours of Sandy, though. I went out to read an affirmation to the trees that a friend had sent me. The affirmation had been used by others and they said there were fewer trees down in their area than in other areas that had also been hit by the storm. I took my camera to take pictures.
So I went out--I think it was around 3 p.m.--and read the tree affirmation. I read it numerous times as I walked from tree to tree. I would touch the trees and communicate to them that what was coming was going to be very difficult. The affirmation tells them to cling to their roots and for their branches to be supple and bend with the wind.
A neighbor saw me and called to me. She invited me in for wine, so she, her girlfriend, and I sat around the fire and had a couple glasses of wine. By then we'd lost power, so we listened to music on a battery-operated radio and had a dim light from a lantern. We had a great time, talking and laughing, but I decided it was time to go so I left.
Shortly after I left, a giant tree came down on Gloria's house and crushed it in the center. Another tree fell on it, too, and the entire second floor was destroyed. Gloria and her friend had to go next door to the neighbor's to stay because the rain and wind was coming in. I was shocked when I saw it the next morning. She has had to vacate the house. The insurance company found them another home in a town about 8 miles away from here. She will re-build.
The tree was so huge the insurance company had to bring in a company from W. Virginia to remove it. There was no one here in the northeast that could handle a job of that magnitude. One of the tree guys from W. Virginia said they had another Sandy tree removal job to do on the way up. On that one they found the owner of the house under the tree--dead.
I mention all this because I don't think it was a coincidence that I left shortly before the big tree fell on my friend's house. I did not realize this until nearly a week later, though, when I put the pictures I took from that afternoon on my computer.
I've posted five photos, two with orbs in them and one with an apparition. I took a total of around 10 photos, and 3 had anomalies in them.
In this photo the orb appears to be rushing toward me. Look at the left side. It appears to be moving. Also it is a very large orb, don't you think? Usually orbs in pictures are much smaller. This photo was taken as I walked back from Gloria's house.

In the photo below, you will see two orbs, one up on top by the branch and another down on the bottom near the railing of my deck. If you look to the left of the top orb, you can see the branch coming through the bamboo.
I think the orbs are acting to hold the branch up and prevent it from damaging my house. By all rights, that tree should have come crashing down on my house just like the one at Gloria's, but it did not. Instead, the bamboo appears to hold it up. I think there's a little more to it than that, though. People say bamboo is tough and yes, it is, but this is a heavy tree, a tree that split off from its base and came down on my house. And it caused no damage.

To give you an idea of the size, this is what's left of the tree that broke off:

I think my guardian angel was watching out for me and that is what these pictures show.
I am enormously grateful. Being without heat and electricity for 10 days was bad enough, but it would be even worse if I'd had to leave my house. Instead, I will not even be filing an insurance claim.
In the third and final photo there is an apparition. It is hard to see at first, but he's there. There is a soldier standing at the bottom of the incline. He has a hat on. I think he is an African-American soldier. He has very broad shoulders and on the right shoulder there is a patch that looks like it says "C." I can even see him down to his legs. He has quite a nice physique.
To make it easier to see, take your eye to the second of the two white trees and then look about two inches to the right. He is about an inch up from the bottom.

I don't know what kind of soldier uniform it is, but I suspected WWI because of the helmet. I asked a historian friend if African-Americans fought in WWI and he said yes, but in separate units.
Why is this soldier in my yard during Sandy? Why is he standing there, so solid, so unanimated?
The only idea I have is that I have an African-American friend who is a history buff and who, when he is here, likes to read his military books on that end of the house. Could it have something to do with his readings?

(18,928 posts)Cher -- I can see the little soldier. How large do you think that was in reality? It's hard to gauge the size w/o something to compare it by.
I went scratching around what's left of DU2 (not much) for the Bitsey thread you mention. Do you still have those photos? I remember it very well.
Sometime maybe you can tell us what it was like living all those days w/o power? It's possible that this Sandy was just a warm up for what we may see weather wise as we move through the galactic center and the Sun pours out flares.
get the red out
(13,609 posts)Cher, I see more faint images of other soldiers to the right of the one you are talking about also, and maybe even a faint one to the left of him.

(14,271 posts)the story AND the pics...AWESOME
I wonder if the soldier is a guardian of the land too?
...and yes, the being W/O electricity for so long is curious to me too. what about hot water?
