Mother of Newtown Victim Hears from Son
This is a story about a mother who had a visitation from her son who was killed last week. He tells her about the scope of the event and how it is touching so many people.

The part about the visitation is relatively short. Most of this story is about how the parents found out they were victims.
Still, I think it's amazing that a major "mainstream" newspaper would report such an event. As all of us here know, such stories are usually given short shrift. But yes, a major daily is reporting on a visit from the other side.
The times: they are a 'changing.
I am happy that this mother has received a measure of comfort from this visit. According to the story, it has completely changed her grieving experience.

(28,450 posts)could just mean we turn from a "me" society to a "we" society. Most people, regardless of who they pray to, or who don't believe in any deity, could support that.
She might be thinking in terms of her own beliefs but it doesn't mean we all have to believe the same way she does to make this a better country.

I'm glad she found comfort with her meeting with her son and I wish her well with her organization.
Personally, I wish it was as easy as gun control and ACA, but we are such a sick, sick culture it really needs rebuilding from the ground up. Way back in the olden days, when there were real communities, the Adam Lanzas of the world would have been taken under the wing, and kept in line, by all the males of the community. He would have had a secure place in a small society, instead of being left abandoned and twisting in the wind in our detached, clinical, everyone for himself, non-community.

(37,681 posts)You're thinking of NY Post.
No, the Daily News has been posting more liberal, favorable-to-Democrats articles for some time. I don't understand why, as I hear one of their editors came over from the Post, but that is the case as I read it on my Nook every night. Also I bought it a lot during the storm, and I was pleased to see they headed up a major aid effort for the storm victims on the Jersey shore. They literally rounded up supplies and, using their NY Daily News newspaper trucks, took them to the victims.
They might be pretty good people.
Re your last paragraph, I wish I'd written that. So true. As I read it, I kept thinking of the pictures of their home and this 20-year old kid, home alone, playing violent video games. That and his mom were about his only human contact.

I've read some really sad descriptions of his reality. He couldn't stand to have people touch him or be too physically close to him, including his mother. Yet couldn't stand to have her too far away either. She sometimes spent her nights sleeping on the floor just outside his bedroom door...
He had some serious problems with his brain wiring and serious fear/rage issues. Apparently his brother also has issues. Hard to say how much was nature vs nurture.

(5 posts)please make sure that this is not just manufactured reality. As in, the Illuminati trying to generate low energy at a time of great energy (holidays, solstice).
I don't believe the Official Stories (because they keep changing). Go to Youtube and type in Sandy Hook hoax. Everything from the bizarre presser of the coroner to one of the parents laughing and then going to the mic, it's really odd and does not resonate.

I'll be posting back on that page when I get a little time (grades are due for the semester).

(2,211 posts)The times are definitely changing - it used to be when people had visits from someone after death they were too afraid to tell anyone.
I have no doubt that she did hear from her son and it will help her cope with his loss in this dimension.
