"Calgon, take me away" Seems like everything is falling apart.

Sorry to whine, but I feel like it's that, or I'm gonna start crying and won't be able to stop...

I'm seriously beat by our fast and furious streak of life disruptions. If this has been star related, I'm ready for it to end, like yesterday, and most everything seems to have a large dollar sign attached to it. I feel like we're bleeding money! Ins should cover most, but even they seem to be having issues. It's been going on since the end of October and I'm tired of it. I'm an Aries and not usually the one who gets concerned about money much (that would be my Taurus hubby).

1) Still working on the tree/house/Sandy repairs. First on my list is always be thankful that none of us were hurt. But the rebuild hasn't started yet. We're still going back/forth trying to get totals our builder and the ins co can agree on and work with. All while the 'adjuster' says we need to have the work done by Apr 30 (or 180 days from the accident - paperwork says 180 days from initial payment). I'm getting worried about time since we don't even have a set figure to work with yet. The darned mini storage unit that can make delivery to our site has been almost impossible to find. We finally found one and had it scheduled to be delivered today. Unfortunately 3 drivers called out with the flu. So we have to reschedule.

2) Got rear-ended last week -again thankful that everyone in both vehicles came through unscathed. Repairs for our car - 2.5K (so far). In an aside, we have a leaking rear tire, took it to the tire place and they said we need 4 new ones, and a diagnostic run to see why they're wearing the way they are (either suspension or alignment). Even though us and the guy who hit us all have State Farm, SF can't seem to reach him to see if he corroborates the story on the accident report and his ticket. He blew them off at lunch again today.

3) Son got his first disciplinary action ever at school. A classmate picks on him. We took care of it last year and thought it was not an issue this year. Apparently we were wrong. Son told him to "f off and leave me alone" (first time he's ever taken up for himself like that). Said he couldn't take his taunting any more. Teacher heard my son, son gets in trouble. Son got 2 hrs detention. After making the Dean of Students aware this is the same kid that was a problem last year, the bully got a full day detention.

For myself, I started out last month at work like a 'ball of fire' after the holidays. My organizational abilities only seem to materialize in fits and spurts. This past week I've felt like I have been in total grid-lock and unable to function - I'm beat.

And those are just the highlights of the past couple of months. Sometimes I really wish life had a 'pause' button that would pause everyone but me.

...Breathing deeply and reminding myself right now that in the scope of everything happening in the US now, that we are still a very lucky family to only have this crap on our plates right now....

I feel selfish asking, but if you all could send some calming thoughts our way, hubby and I would very much appreciate that.

It is always so outrageous that when a kid finally stands up for themselves- they get in trouble!

Smooth sailing vibes!

Not selfish at all, and please feel free to cry. I promise you *will* stop before your drown in your tears and the release will not only make you feel better, it may free enough energy to get life moving forward for you. And it's ok to be angry, too, about the lack of coordination/cooperation between your builder and your insurance co. Too late to change insurance cos., but can you get a quote or two from some other builders to either light a fire under the current one or convince the insurance co. they're better off with the current one?

It's good that your son stood up for himself. Now he just needs to find a way to stand up for himself without getting into trouble with TPTB. Easier said than done, I know. TPTB prefer to be the 3 monkeys and get annoyed when someone brings an issue to their attention.

So sorry you were rear-ended. Wow...that's a bucketload of damage. They must have slammed you pretty hard!

myself up and clear my thoughts just to get a break from the crisis of the moment.

Talked to the auto ins co. Still having a problem contacting the other guy (as of 7pm Friday night). They said their policy is to try for 3 weeks, then send a person out to his work or home to confront him if he's still avoiding them. The police had said that we could go to Aldermans court, but due to it being a rear end, it was cut and dried - especially since he signed off on the ticket and the accounting of the incident. Might have to do it though.

Tomorrow is try two at delivering the mini storage unit. We'll see if they have a driver for tomorrow.

Tonight, just trying to enjoy the SB with the kids (although I should be doing some catch-up work).
