Something in the air/stars/planets tonight???
Several unpleasant and unusual events/communications have happened 'to me,' and wondering about the confluence. Anything???

(136,387 posts)Perseid's due Aug 11-13, and I suspect they don't have such power but I could be wrong.

(136,387 posts)Part of the impetus to get stuff out of DC apartment. Rent there is significantly HIGHER and my obligation, of course (among other things.)
Going to visit cottage today, check things out, say hi to the sun (and critters!) there, bring toothbrush, see if painter's been there, and wonder when it will be ready for me 'full-time.'
All DUers are invited to visit, so think about it!!!
OneGrassRoot
(23,428 posts)it will likely be a last-minute, spur of the moment thing, and hotel rooms may be scarce.
I was hoping to attend as my own 50th b-day celebration, but now I'm not sure I can go, but I sure would love to visit there soon to see your lovely cottage and surrounds, and to see YOU!!!
More pics soon, please!

(136,387 posts)if you get to the area. As cottage is 60+ miles from DC its not the ideal place for a DC event, but might be able to offer you a room with a bed at friend's town-house on metro-rail line outside of Silver Spring, MD. I stay there (here, actually) much/most of the time.
IF you come we'd do cottage visit, and as the whole situation there is in flux (painter supposed to be there some time soon, like maybe next week,) as is schedule dealing w husb's apartment (and daughters,) my 'schedule' isn't a schedule!
As to more pics, I have to get a real camera, which is one of my first tasks, as only have pics on my little cell. Will text you those if you p.m. me your phone #, but warning, my txt pics leave MUCH to be desired!

(23,428 posts)I hope to remedy that this month as well!!! LOL
That all sounds great. We'll stay in touch.

(136,387 posts)but HOT! Previous tenants left Monday, a.c. turned off, I went today to check things out (before 'moving in,' which will be after painting in couple weeks,) turned a.c. on, and hope to buy lounge chairs for porch so I can sit outside with view of the river!

(6,452 posts)and it seems as though I am not alone......and there is no real explanation for it. I am just as tired as I usually am, and just as overbooked. So, I was wondering the same thing myself.

(136,387 posts)roiling things up unnecessarily as she usually does, and my obligation to try to 'solve' or at least address continuing issue. And then heard some undue reactions to some public news from 'friends.' And then some DU posts, not unusual but unpleasant subject.
Would be nice if I could go to sleep, but somehow I doubt it, in the short run.
Sorry you're in a horrible mood, Tumbulu.

(6,452 posts)and hope things are better for you as well!

(3,508 posts)No sense it was coming, caught me off guard. My morning was great, and got a hefty tip, I was feeling so blessed-and maybe that is why I got the tip, to help balance out the sudden potentially financially impacting news (which can be looked at with a silver lining, as I've been trying).
elleng
(136,387 posts)and you're trying to see the silver lining.

(38,893 posts)Irresponsibility is being forced to face itself (for purposes of understanding and changing course...and changing course to the positive is easier than ever when one is willing, and the pain of resisting the Shift can present enough pain to convince one to become willing).
Not saying this is what is occurring with the OP, but this is the general case. The old is being purified ever more powerfully. If something is in your life, ask yourself why you want it there, and listen for the answers. (Again, this is general and not specifically replying to the OP.)
