Hi.
My ptsd has been triggered. It happened as I watched tonight's episode of "Elementary," of all things. Between that, and my witch of a mother trying to violate my boundaries, I am feeling low.
Some healing thoughts and prayers would help, friends.
I don't usually discuss this.

(31,411 posts)There are things I can do for myself, too.
I am making sure that I eat some nice, warming, comforting food on this very cold day. Soup and stew will help, without eating like a pig. And we are going to the community theater's annual Christmas play tonight. I need to get outside of myself and see cheerful people. There will be lots of children in the play. They are excited about the play, and about Christmas.

I will have to confront my mother soon, but I am waiting and considering what to say. She does not understand that I am a 65 year old woman who has built a good life for myself. Her constant abuse says more about her than it does about me.

You are correct that her abuse is about her NOT you.

(29,414 posts)I don't know if you like, or read, anything by Doreen Virtue, but she has a book out called "Assertiveness for Earth Angels" and companion FB page (linked here.)
It's a pretty good psychological self-help book so far (I'm about halfway through.) Maybe just look at the page above for the Love and encouragement given there. And I give my own to you, too
