Calls to Police About the Paranormal

Here's some interesting reading for cold winter nights when one just wants to huddle under the covers with a Nook/Kindle/tablet.

At Reddit someone posed the question to police officers:

Have you ever been called to a home for a paranormal reason?

Lots of answers and a long, long thread. Some of the stories are really spooky.

The thread is so long that my e-book reader only calls up the first 500 posts. I intend to copy the rest of the posts on my desktop and put them in a Word file to continue reading on my Nook.

which was about life in the projects, one time a ghost showed up.
He told everyone he was an "apparition-American."

It was a great show, produced by Ron Howard and Eddie Murphy. It was not politically correct, so it was canceled after one season. You had to listen to the dialogue closely. The main character was named Thurgood Orenthal Stubbs. His wife called him Goody.

It took me awhile to figure out that "Stubbs" was referring to Levi Stubbs of The Four Tops.

but I thoroughly enjoyed reading some of it in my insomnia last night.

You have to love some of the cops who made tinfoil hats for paranoid people, or who "arrested" ghosts to soothe the fearful. There are some funny stories of cops solving persistent phone calls in ways like that.

Thanks for sharing!

I know, Tsiyu, that was one of the things I enjoyed about the thread, too--that the cops have a sense of humor and the length that some of them go to in dealing with the calls they are sent on. Imagine thinking to "arrest" a ghost!

We do have some good men and women out there on the police force.

as a way to block "aliens" I think was great. He said "Call me once a month and I will spray your porch to protect you."

It was just sweet the way they tried to accommodate the paranoids with compassion and creativity.

There are some great folks who are LEOs, that is true.
