Automatic Writing (creativity)....
Does anyone have any techniques to help stimulate this process? (I'll also post in the Lounge).

(3,023 posts)Like, starting with suggestions or tips kills the concept, as I was taught to do this.
Similar to becoming hypnotized, clear your mind, be comfortable, but instead of listening to the hypnotist listen you your head and write whatever comes to mind...
I remember writing this passage in 1979 in the class, it might be in a notebook somewhere.
"Streetcars Collide, and they will again", inspired by a headline in the SF Chronicle that struck me as odd.
Anyway, grab a pad or notebook (I think it's best not to use a keyboard) and just write:
As fast as you can without thinking twice, let those words just flow!!!
