Hecate update (with pics--dialup warning)
I've had my costume since Sunday & have been in & out of it several times. Last night, the lady who was helping me get out of it said "Hold on! There's something in here." She then showed me a long, bent pin. I was stunned. When I was young, my mom made all my clothes & somehow, no matter how careful she was, there was always a bent pin left behind for me to find (ouch). I'm tearing up just remembering it right now. I find it hard to believe the pin was there this whole time (right shoulder area) because we always have to make a lot of "fuss" to get it just right. But, there it was.
I was shocked to see how much they changed my costume. It is nothing like it was described to me. Instead, it's, well, look for yourself & tell me where they got the inspiration.... I think Hecate is happy with it.

(22,298 posts)but supposed to be the widow's peak that owls have. the whole costume is earth tones, very flowy, & has points that look like "feathering." But yeah, with that lighting, I look like I should be in a Wagner opera. Glad you like it!! Thanks for all your support!!

(17,060 posts)I'm so thrilled your costume and makeup isn't scary looking
Instead you are sooooooooo beautiful.
Are you going to get to keep the costume? That would truly be awesome!
Is anyone going to be video taping? If not someone should as I would to see your scene.
Congratulations on such a wonderful job and getting the role

(22,298 posts)No, I don't get to keep the costume. Ah well. As for taping, I don't know. I'm going to ask today to see if my scenes can be recorded so those who couldn't see them in person can at least see them that way. As always, if Hecate wants it, it will happen.

(17,060 posts)My hubby really REALLY the last pic, as well as the set design. I agree with him.
I hope someone does tape your scenes, I'd love to see it up on the youtube.

I thought the horns were a harken to Isis. But then her headdress may have been owl related.....
You probably noticed the reverse image of the horns on the bottom of the vest? You've got some great costume designers.
I LOVE the colors.

(18,775 posts)The sets are great!
It looks like you are singing(?) I saw the best ever production of The Tempest that had some of the dialog set to music. It was handled really well and was beautiful.

(22,298 posts)lol, but no, no singing.
Although Hecate found her voice when I started saying my lines as though I was singing---pure vowel sounds, all consonants pronounced except "r"s.
We had our last show on Sunday & I am still dragging anchor. They did record 4 shows & we're supposedly going to see a copy, but I don't know when. A friend did record my scenes on my birthday & I'll post separately about that.
