What is this called?

There is a name for this question and I can't remember what it is. (It's "Somebody's Something.&quot It's driving me nuts!

A Christian asks: Wouldn't you rather believe in God and discover that he doesn't exist, or not believe in him and find that he does exist - when it's too late?

Anyone? I'm grasping at straws.

Thanks.

Kadmos: Even if by your calculation, Dionysos is no god so what? It would be best for you to lie. Lie so that Semele believes that she gave birth to a god. That way, even we and our whole race, would receive honours.

At the end of this play Dionysos sees through the ploy and turns Kadmos and his wife into snakes.

Kadmus: Forgive us, Dionysos! Forgive us. We have treated you unjustly.

Dionysos: This you’ve understood far too late and not when it was important.
