(22,453 posts)Good to see you. I stopped by here awhile ago and figured you moved. I've been away for quite awhile. Thought maybe I had the wrong "address". There's been more than a little rearranging of the furniture in here!
Anyway, while I'd love to be able to go to the conference, this one is a bit too far of a jaunt for me. Hope you're able to attend and have a good time!
Have a wonder-filled Christmas!

(30,889 posts)I'll be at the Conference. Co-leading the Introduction to Mimetic Theory session (again), and a workshop introducing a game using Mimetic Theory in conflict resolution. The main speakers look very good this year.
Sorry it's too far for you. Several board members want to do it in Atlanta in 2013. I think we need to move further west. I'll try to take a stand.
Good to see you, 54n! Have a Merry Christmas!

(22,453 posts)I sort of remember you and I discussing something around the Navy Pier that had to do with Girard....No matter.
Seems most of the old crowd has moved on from this place long ago. Hopefully they've taken to the streets instead of wasting energy at their keyboards.
Merry Christmas to you too!

Are you in Chicago now?

(22,453 posts)Have you heard or seen the RevCheesehead around here anymore? Or Rabrrr?
Critters2
(30,889 posts)I think she's left the parish, but not sure what she's doing.
Hard to imagine Rabrrrr isn't posting on DU, but I sure haven't seen him. You could try pm'ing them.

(22,453 posts)I'll have to figure out how to do that on this new-fangled DU....
Trust you had a good Christmas.

(30,889 posts)Worship in the morning, of course. Then my cousin and her family came down from the 'burbs, and we went hiking followed by buffet dinner at Starved Rock Lodge. Took my dog along hiking, then let her sleep in the car while we ate. The vet says it's probably her last Christmas, but you wouldn't know it by her activity level. I'm on vacation this week, but home, giving her lots of attention.
How was your Christmas?

(22,453 posts)Christmas Eve was at the niece's with the 2 "grand-nephews" and the rest of the family. Had a wonderful dinner (yummy filet mingnon on the grill) and a great time watching the boys enjoy their new toys. I actually got to enjoy Christmas Eve this year and even have a fair share of wine since I only had to minister Christmas morning instead of eve for a change. Spent the day Christmas Day with my sister and her family. She is doing fantastic after the organ transplants - nearly 2 years ago now.
We have an old dog as well...he'll turn 19 this spring assuming he continues to hang in there. He is actually doing pretty well, though not very active anymore. Mostly just eats and sleeps. Can barely hear and his vision isn't what it used to be. There have been so many times I've thought we were near the end, but then he comes around again. I dread the day I lose him...hubby says no more after this one. That will be rough, I've had a dog in my life from the day I was born. But it will be nice to travel more freely in our "old age".
