(54,854 posts)Also, I am thinking, what if we (Jews and those who are actually allies to our people) place the blue squares in our icons or sig lines, especially for this month (Jewish-American History month)?

(13,181 posts)but Jewish hate means the hate is Jewish, and at my advanced age, I cant twist my brain around to make it mean hate OF Jews. And that emblem is singularly devoid of meaning also. My spidey sense is tingly.

(54,854 posts)The reason the term "Jew Hatred" is being used is because there is a movement among a special group of haters (almost exclusively on the left) to try to redefine anti-Semitism as something other than bigotry against Jews. So, some have started using "antisemitism", as opposed to how I wrote it, and "Jew hatred" to completely sidestep the assholes trying to diminish hate against Jews by claiming we aren't "really" Semites.
Something similar happened back in the late 80's and early 90's with "homophobia" because, again, some bigots, tried to claim people weren't really "afraid" of homosexuals, so a few academics tried floating the term "homo-hatred". It didn't take, overall, but it is still used in some spaces.

(13,181 posts)Are we dealing with 2 separate groups? Or 1 group playing around with names?

(54,854 posts)The day has been a hot mess! My husband, in his mourning for the loss of one of our chihuahuas a couple of months ago, decided to get a new puppy...so I have to really watch him while my husband is at work. I love him, but he is a puppy and can be quite a terror. LOL!
Anyway, I also have to apologize for my failing to re-read what I wrote. I didn't mean to write "Jew hatred", it should have been "Jewish" but I missed it when I re-read my post, until I saw your post, which confused me, until I saw what I wrote. I apologize for the confusion.
