Prayer Circle

in East Texas and Oklahoma who are in the path of continuing severe weather. This is like nothing we've ever seen before, even in bad el nino seasons.
Louisiana and Arkansas are also in the storm zone.

(11,573 posts)doing okay. We've had a couple bad T-storms in as many weeks, but nothing like the storms you guys have had to contend with.
Stay safe.

(29,414 posts)The second wave is hitting Houston right now. I was in Dripping Springs over the weekend, and we were on our way back from eating out when the big storm hit Saturday night. Heavy rain too dense to see through, and winds gusting strong enough to rock a Honda van with three people in it. We were on highway 290, and higher in elevation. Blanco and Wimberley are to the south of Dripping, down in a huge valley. The Blanco river is basically the collection point for all of those hills.

(11,573 posts)I've seen photos of the Blanco and San Marcos out of their banks, and "whitewater" on the San Antonio River walk last night. This stuff is scary.
I'm back in Houston now, so the problem where I'm at isn't flooding, but hail, wind, and tornadoes. The one that hit the apartment complex in SW Houston isn't that far, geographically, from where I'm at. And I just saw a brief instance of a tornado-producing thunderstorm north of here. Things are getting hairy!
