Related: About this forumIs Bernie Sanders an atheist?
I have been following him on FB for some time, and he seems very progressive on most issues. Anybody know where he stands on religion?

(57,349 posts)1. I believe he's a secular Jew.
I'm sure the topic of his religion will be discussed by everyone soon enough but I doubt he'll come out of the closet if he's an atheist.
Good question.

Seems to place him squarely in the "separation of church and state" camp. Hopefully he can avoid being pushed into "god bless America " politics.

(57,349 posts)3. He's not going to pander to the religionists, I'd put money on it.
As a native Vermonter I've been a Bernie fan for decades.

He scored a solid zero from Ralph Reeds Faith and Freedom Coalition in its most recent scorecard and a 100 from the abortion rights group NARAL Pro-Choice America.
