POLL: Meme of the Week – August 3rd (Original Post)

OP
Here is the 2009 lecture where Krauss's comment comes from.
It went so viral, he wrote the book to better get ALL the info out there.
One of my fave things he points out in the book is how religious apologists kept saying his definition of "nothing" was not really "nothing" (even though his definition would satisfy any reasonable person.... plus implying that there cannot be "nothing" in the absolute sense). The religionists kept moving the goal post for the word until their only acceptable definition for "nothing" was "That from which only god can create".
The lecture is about a hour, but well worth it. In fact, I used to come back to it about every other month because it's SO GOOD and so full of sense.

(7,886 posts)2. I went the Hitler route
Because it apparently needs constant reinforcing that the whole third Reich was steeped heavily in religion.
I have to find that quote from Kurt Vonnegut where he says he felt like a saracen marching against crusaders under a cross.

since it only had one little vote and I thought it was better than that. There is a reason they say you get fleeced.

Excellent, each and every one of them.
